He was the originator of two world renown contributions in the music industry, the girl group Love Unlimited, & the Love Unlimited Orchestra. Shaherah's mother, Glodean White, lead singer of Love Unlimited, is well known for her sexy, alluring vocals on such hits as "Walking In The Rain(With The One I Love)", "I Belong To You", and the original "Play Our Loves Theme" with lyrics.
The dynamics of this husband and wife liaison, spawned one very musically diverse child. It was in the church at a very young age, where Shaherah started exploring her own musical awareness, as a soloist. She began recording as a background vocalist on her fathers records at age 13, and went on to later become a vocal coach to his background singers during his tours around the globe. A deep appreciation for all genres of music has kept Shaherah immersed in a world of rhythms and melodies throughout the years. With a range of influences that reach as far back as early 1920's -1940's jazz, and standards, Rosemary Clooney, Etta James, Cole Porter, and Nina Simone.
To highly the talented artistries of various groups like The Skyliners, The Delfonics, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Whispers, DeBarge, Take Six and Mint Condition. Plus the collaborative arts of Burt Bachrach & Elvis Costello. And the incomparable gifts of melody and song from artists like Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson, Brenda Holloway, Dionne Warwick, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Celia Cruz, Cal Tjader, Teena Marie, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, El DeBarge, Stevie Wonder, Lalah Hathaway, Jill Scott, Eric Bennett, Diana Krall, Lauryn Hill just to name a few. Shaherah currently enjoys sharing her love of grooves and melodies, in more intimate settings, with audiences who remain entertained and affectionate towards her craft. She is writing original materials to be released, but most enjoys the stage where she is able to share her interpretation of all of her musical inspirations.
